I found out a little over a week ago that I'm going to be laid off. I don't know exactly when but probably sometime around February or March of 2014. I'm not allowed to describe the details, so I'm going to be vague about certain things.
I was pretty surprised about the announcement. And terrified. And excited too.
Why excited? Even though my job is pretty good, it's never what I wanted to do with my life. I'm always afraid of getting comfortable in a job and just staying there. Don't get me wrong, that's not a terrible thing. But sometimes other goals get put aside once you get comfortable.
So I decided to start this blog to talk about my life, my interests and my new job opportunities.
I've decided to stay at my job for now until I learn how long I have left. I honestly haven't figured out much more than that.
My biggest problem has always been lack of motivation. Which is annoying because I perform great at any of my jobs and at school. Ok, that sounded like a humblebrag. And I don't even know if humblebrag is 1 or 2 words.
I'm motivated at work but not at home. I know people who come home from work and whiz around their house cooking and cleaning. But I don't ever feel like doing that after I get out of work. So as you probably can tell, I don't have any kids. I have a cat, though. (Cute picture below)
That's enough with the depressing talk. I guess I should talk a little more about myself....
I'm basically pretty nerdy. Not like the trendy nerd that is super popular right now. Just a nerd who's always been that way.
What kind of a nerd? Well, I've always been into video games. RPG's and platform games are my favorite! As a kid, I played the first Final Fantasy and Zelda on my Nintendo. They're still some of my favorite games. I still remember the moment of joy when I found the airship in the desert in FF.
I was feeling nostalgic last night and started played Windwaker. This is one of my favorite Zelda games. A Link to the Past is amazing also. And Ocarina of Times would be in my top 3.
I'm also a huge reader, and I read way more than I play video games.
What I'm Reading Right Now: A Dance with Dragons
This whole series has been soooo good that I kinda don't want to finish this book. At least not until the next book is released. I also enjoy Game of Thrones on HBO even though there's too much nudity and it sometimes seems forced into the episode.
What I'm Watching Right Now: Breaking Bad
I've heard so much about this show and I didn't think I'd like it. I actually didn't like the first few episodes but now that I'm on the 4th season I love it! Bob Odenkirk is such a great addition - so funny. I want to try to catch up so I can watch the new episodes live.
Anyway, I guess it's time to wrap up this post. I want to post regularly, but as previously mentioned I have problems with motivation.
